FKF Premier League (FKF PL) clubs have been urged to explore using stadiums such as Moi Stadium (Embu), Moi Kinoru Stadium (Meru), Kirigiti Stadium (Kiambu), Siaya Stadium (Siaya), Waiguru Stadium (Kirinyaga), and Mpesa Foundation Stadium (Thika) starting from the next season.
In a statement from FKF, club chairpersons and CEOs were informed of recent developments that might impact the upcoming FKF Premier League season. The statement mentioned that a CAF delegation had recently visited Kenya to assess the infrastructure and evaluate the country’s capability to co-host the CHAN tournament alongside Uganda and Tanzania. Following this inspection, specific facilities were earmarked for particular purposes: Nyayo Stadium for potential group matches, and Kasarani Annex, Police Sacco Stadium, and Ulinzi Sports Complex as potential training venues.
These facilities are scheduled for renovations to meet the standards recommended by the CAF delegation, and their exact commencement dates will be communicated later. Consequently, these venues might soon be unavailable for FKF Premier League matches.
FKF strongly advised all clubs to proactively explore alternative facilities for inspection and potential use, suggesting several stadiums for consideration. They encouraged clubs to initiate the process of identifying and securing alternative venues promptly to ensure minimal disruption to the league schedule.
FKF also mentioned that further updates would be provided as more information becomes available, including the date for a planned season opener meeting.
