FKF Plans to hold first ever referee training in West Pokot, Moyale and Marsabit

Football Kenya Federation (FKF) is set to conduct its first referee training sessions in three key locations: West Pokot, Moyale, and Marsabit. This initiative aims to enhance the quality of officiating in the country by equipping referees with the latest knowledge and techniques in match officiation.

Training Schedule and Venues

The training sessions will be held as follows:

  • Moyale and Marsabit: Scheduled to run from February 27 to March 3, 2025, the sessions will take place at Moyale Boys High School and Saku Youth Empowerment Center, respectively.
  • West Pokot: The training will be conducted from February 28 to March 3, 2025.

To ensure the success of the training, FKF has appointed highly experienced instructors to oversee the sessions in each location. Richard Obare will take charge of the training in Moyale, bringing his vast expertise to guide aspiring referees in the region.

In Marsabit, Edward Lumbugu will lead the training, sharing his knowledge and skills to help improve officiating standards. Meanwhile, Caleb Amwayi has been tasked with overseeing the training in West Pokot, ensuring that participants gain the necessary insights to officiate matches effectively.

These training sessions are part of FKF’s ongoing efforts to improve officiating standards at all levels of football in Kenya. The program is expected to attract aspiring referees and experienced match officials looking to refine their skills.

By taking these training initiatives to different counties, FKF continues to foster talent development and ensure that all regions benefit from professional refereeing knowledge. Participants can look forward to gaining insights into the latest FIFA laws of the game, match management techniques, and fitness standards required for top-level officiating.
