The FKF Women’s Premier League title race remains on a knife’s edge after Vihiga Queens held leaders Kibera Soccer Women to a 1-1 draw at Moi Stadium, Kisumu, on Sunday, March 30, 2025.
Kibera Soccer Women, who came into the game at the top of the standings, were looking to extend their lead, while Vihiga Queens, sitting third, aimed to close the gap and keep their title hopes alive. The match started at a high tempo, with both sides showing attacking intent.
The breakthrough came in the 30th minute when Faith Mboya produced a stunning strike to give Kibera Soccer Women the lead. The goal gave them control of the first half, forcing Vihiga Queens to chase the game. Despite multiple attempts, the visitors held firm and went into halftime with their advantage intact.
Vihiga Queens, however, came out stronger in the second half. Their persistence paid off in the 71st minute when Christine Adhiambo found the back of the net, leveling the score at 1-1. The final moments of the game saw both teams push for a winner, but neither could break the deadlock.

In terms of shots on target, Vihiga had five, while Kibera managed three. Both teams were aggressive in attack, earning nine free kicks each, while Vihiga Queens edged the corner count with three compared to Kibera’s one. Kibera Soccer Women remain at the top of the table with 38 points, but their lead has been slightly reduced. Kenya Police Bullets, who won their game this weekend, now sit in second place with 36 points and have a game in hand.
Vihiga Queens remain third with 34 points, while Ulinzi Starlets, after their 2-1 victory over Trinity Starlets, stay fourth with 33 points.
