The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Youth League is set to cap off its 2024 season with thrilling finals on Saturday and Sunday, January 25–26, 2025. Now in its second edition, the youth league has expanded significantly, bringing together 786 teams from six counties: Turkana, Kakamega, Kisumu, Nakuru, Mombasa, and Nairobi.
Growth of the FKF Youth League
The FKF Youth League, established to identify and nurture emerging football talent, has evolved into a key platform for young players to showcase their skills. This year, the league introduced the U17 category for both boys and girls, alongside the existing U13 and U15 categories.
The inaugural edition saw notable winners, including:
- Boys U15 and U13: Rodney Strikers
- Girls U13: SJF
- Girls U15: Ladies Musa
This year, expectations are high as teams vie for top honors and players look to impress scouts and coaches.
Grassroots Football Development
The league exemplifies the Football Kenya Federation’s (FKF) commitment to grassroots football development. By creating opportunities for young players from diverse regions, including underserved areas, the initiative seeks to ensure a wider reach for talent identification.
The growth in participation and the league’s popularity reflect its success in tapping into Kenya’s immense football potential.
