Kibera Soccer Women FC have ascended to the top of the FKF Women’s Premier League following a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Trinity Starlets in a rescheduled fixture held on Wednesday at the Trinity Complex in Kikopey.
The decisive moment came in the 31st minute when Anna Arusi found the back of the net, securing vital three points for Kibera.
This win allows Kibera to leapfrog Kenya Police Bullets FC, who previously held the top spot. With 34 points from 16 matches, Kibera now leads the league table, while Kenya Police Bullets, having played the same number of games, drops to second place with 33 points.
As the league progresses, attention now shifts to the upcoming fixtures for Matchweek 17. Notably, Kenya Police Bullets FC will not be in action this weekend as their scheduled opponents, Wadadia FC, have been relegated from the league after failing to honor three consecutive matches.
The Matchweek 17 action will have on Saturday, March 22, 2025, Ulinzi Starlets FC face Bungoma Queens at 11:00 AM at Ulinzi Sports Complex in Nairobi. Zetech Sparks FC will take on Mombasa Olympic FC at noon at Zetech University, Mang’u Campus.
The action will also continue on Sunday, March 23, 2025, with Kibera Soccer Women FC hosting Kisumu AllStarlets FC at 11:00 AM at Marist International University Grounds in Karen. KISPED Queens FC will compete against Trinity Starlets FC at 1:00 PM at Moi Stadium in Kisumu, and Bunyore Starlets FC will go head-to-head with Vihiga Queens FC at 2:00 PM at Mumboha Grounds in Luanda.
With Kibera now leading the race, all eyes will be on their next fixture against Kisumu AllStarlets as they aim to solidify their position at the top of the table.
