Ulinzi Starlets secured a dominant 5-0 victory over Bungoma Queens in a thrilling FKF Women Premier League Week 17 match staged at the Ulinzi Sports Complex on Saturday, March 22, 2025.

The hosts took the lead in the 12th minute when Sheryl Andiba headed home after a well-delivered cross from Fasila Odhiambo, leaving the Bungoma Queens’ defense helpless.

In the 23rd minute, Bungoma Queens’ goalkeeper managed to save Lucy Nato’s attempt, but Fasila Odhiambo was quick to react, tapping in the rebound to double Ulinzi’s advantage. The Starlets went into halftime with a comfortable 2-0 lead.

The second half saw Ulinzi extend their dominance. In the 52nd minute, Sheryl Andiba found herself in a one-on-one situation with the Bungoma keeper, but her effort was denied. However, just three minutes later, Diana Shakava made it 3-0 with a clinical finish.

In the 75th minute, Joy KingLady capitalized on brilliant work from substitute Mercy Airo to slot in a superb goal, extending Ulinzi’s lead to 4-0.

Mercy Airo was instrumental again in the 80th minute, providing another assist for Sheryl Andiba, who completed her brace and sealed a resounding 5-0 victory for Ulinzi Starlets.

This marks Ulinzi’s seventh win of the season, propelling them to third place in the league standings with 30 points and a superior goal difference of +18. They edge ahead of Vihiga Queens, who are level on points but set to play their match tomorrow.

Bungoma Queens remain fifth in the standings with 25 points from 16 matches, having secured seven wins, four draws, and five losses.

In another match of the day at Zetech University, Mang’u campus, Zetech Sparks secured a comfortable 3-0 victory over Mombasa Olympic. In stoppage time (90’+2), Adhiambo sealed the win in style with a powerful screamer, making it 3-0 at the final whistle.
