Tournament Draw Sets Stage for Thrilling Rugby Action

Reigning Impala Floodlit champions KCB RFC will kick off their title defense against Kenya University’s Blak Blad in the first quarter-final of the 2024 edition, scheduled for October 19 at the Impala Club.

This match-up was confirmed during the tournament draw held earlier today at the Impala Club. Women’s Competition

The women’s competition will feature four teams. Hosts Impala Roans will face Northern Suburbs, while defending champions Mwamba will battle it out with NYS Ladies. These matches will be held on October 26 and November 2.

Universities Tournament

In the universities’ category, defending champions JKUAT will play Daystar in the first quarter-final, with Zetech taking on the Kabete Stallions. The Rift Varsities, a team representing universities from the Rift Valley region, will challenge USIU, while Impala Boks will face KCA University in the final quarter-final.

Tournament Preparations

During the draw ceremony, Impala Treasurer Allan Wamanga provided an update on the tournament’s preparations:

“We are excited to host you here today as we draw a step closer to the tournament kick-off. Preparations are in full gear, the pitch is in pristine condition, and we are finalizing repairs on the stands and lights to ensure that both fans and players enjoy a world-class experience,” said Wamanga.

He also noted that Safaricom, Huawei, and Coca-Cola have partnered with the tournament to help deliver a top-tier experience.
