Football Kenya Federation schedules Elective Special General Meeting

The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has officially issued a convocation notice for the much-anticipated Elective Special General Meeting (SGM), which will take place on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at the Moi International Sports Center, Kasarani, Nairobi. The elections will run from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM EAT.

In a letter addressed to national delegates and signed by FKF Acting General Secretary/CEO Patrick Korir, the meeting’s primary agenda will focus on the election of members to the National Executive Committee (NEC), including the Federation President and Deputy President.

The agenda for the SGM includes:

  1. Roll call and verification of quorum.
  2. An address by FKF President Nick Mwendwa.
  3. Elections to fill positions in the National Executive Committee (NEC) as stipulated under Article 28 of the FKF Constitution (2017).

Each FKF County and club will be represented by one delegate.

The list of eligible delegates for the elections includes:

  • 48 FKF Counties
  • 18 FKF Premier League clubs
  • 10 National Super League clubs
  • 10 National Division One clubs
  • 3 Women’s Premier League (WPL) clubs
  • 2 Women’s Division One League clubs
  • 1 representative from the Kenya Football Players Welfare Association

Significance of the Elections

The elections come at a critical time for Kenyan football as stakeholders seek to stabilize and rejuvenate the sport’s governance.
