Former CS Munya dropped as witness in Arror, Kimwarer dams case

Former Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Peter Munya was on August 31 dropped as a witness in the Ksh63 billion Arror and Kimwarer dams case.

The court set Munya free after presenting himself at the Nairobi Anti-Corruption Court to testify against former CS Henry Rotich and others mentioned in the case.

Munya was dropped as a witness in the case after he complied with an order issued by Trial Magistrate Eunice Nyutu.

The magistrate had directed the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to arrest and present Munya in court by 11:15 a.m. on August 31.

When Munya appeared in court, the prosecution said they were not ready to proceed with the matter.

He was then allowed to go after the Magistrate said the prosecution had no questions for him.

Although the former Meru governor was dropped as a witness, the case was adjourned to September 11, 2023.

At the same time, the court ordered the prosecution to produce all witnesses in court when the case resumes.
