The National Chairman of the Devolution Empowerment Party (DEP), popularly known as ‘BUS,’ Lenny Kivuti has called on the youth of Embu County to stay focused on their goals and avoid being exploited by politicians for non-productive activities.
Speaking during the launch of the Strategic Framework for Embu County youths under the ‘BUS’ Party Youth Ambassadors Movement at the Lenny Kivuti Innovation Center (LKIC), Kivuti emphasized the immense potential that the youth hold in advancing both the county and the nation.
Kivuti, a former Embu Senator and gubernatorial aspirant, commended the youth for successfully launching their Strategic Framework, which outlines their vision and commitment to empowering fellow youths in the county.
“This is a noble endeavor. Coming together for activities that benefit the people is essential. I encourage you to leverage social media in innovative ways to raise revenue and address some of the world’s most pressing challenges,” Kivuti stated.
Dr. Brian Mwenda, who supported the movement with a Ksh 50,000 contribution, emphasized that the youth are the future and the backbone of any nation. He noted that they must be supported, especially in the digital age, to thrive and succeed in their innovative lifestyles.
At the same time, Embu Youth President Keziah Ngari highlighted that the movement is committed to several initiatives aimed at improving the livelihoods of the vulnerable and uplifting the communities around them.
She stressed that their goal is to foster a united, vibrant, and influential youth movement that drives positive change across Embu County.
Ngari also invited all young people in the region to join the ‘BUS’ Party Youth Ambassadors, underscoring the party’s focus on youth involvement in governance and leadership.
Organizing Secretary Sharleen Mumbi reaffirmed that the youth are prepared to challenge the status quo, stressing their commitment to creating lasting change.
The youths marked the launch of the Strategic Framework as a milestone in their mission to empower young people in political, social, and economic development.
The Devolution Empowerment Party (DEP) was described by the youth as a youth-friendly party that actively addresses the challenges facing young people in the country.
