Former journalist Moses Dola has been set free after completing a decade’s long prison sentence for the death of his wife, fellow journalist Sarah Wambui Kabiru in 2011.
A court ruling directed by High court judge, Alexander Muteti who announced the the decision in a virtual session, during which Dola expressed his gratitude to the judge, with the court ordering his immediate release.
Convicted of man slaughter
Dola’s legal trouble began in 2011 when his wife, Wambui, lost her life following a domestic altercation at their Nairobi home.
He initially went into hiding before surrendering to the authorities.
In 2018 the court found him guilty of man slaughter ruling that Wambui’s death was not pre-meditated but resulted from the domestic dispute and was sentenced to 10 years in prison.

Pursuing a legal career
According to Dola ,he will be making a come back to the corridors of Justice not as a defendant but rather as an attorney for completion his law studies.
While serving his sentence, Dola took the opportunity to further his education.
He enrolled in legal studies, a step he considers part of his journey of transformation and personal growth.
Currently, he remains dedicated to completing law school, a decision that could shape his future career path, his case highlights the role of education in rehabilitation and re-integration for individuals who have served prison terms.
