The Milimani Anti-Corruption Court Chief Magistrate Thomas Nzyoki on Wednesday February 12, 2025 convicted former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu and his wife Susan Wangari for various crimes including conflict of interest and awarding of tenders without the approval of the County Assembly.

Also found guilty is businessman Charles Chege and his wife Beth Wangechi together with former Kiambu County Government Roads Chief Officer Eng. Luka Mwangi.

The magistrate said they are convicted as charged, since the prosecution proved it’s case beyond any reasonable doubt.

While convicting the former governor, the magistrate noted that Waititu failed to honor the oath of office and to safeguard public funds.

He noted that the award of the multi-million shillings contract for road construction to Testimony Enterprises Limited was fraudulent.

However Waititu and the co-accused persons were acquitted of Money Laundering charges.
