Former Lukenya Chief, 2 police officers sentenced to prison terms or pay fine for taking KSh50,000 bribe

Former Lukenya Chief Tirus Ndambuki Musyoka has been sentenced to four years in prison or pay a fine of KSh200,000.

This is after the Nairobi Anti-Corruption Court convicted Musyoka on three counts of receiving a bribe of KSh50,000 and abuse of office.

Principal Magistrate Isabellah Barasa sentenced Musyoka alongside former KBC Police Station officer commanding station (OCS) Chief Inspector Francis Bundi Wilson and former Joska Police Post OCS Inspector Kyalo Munyao Nthiwa.

Wilson and Nthiwa were each fined KSh100,000 or serve a two-year prison term after being convicted on two counts of bribery.

The three were found guilty of accepting a bribe from Peter Muhia Njenga in exchange for the release of his cattle held at KBC Police Station in 2019.

The court heard that Njenga was coerced into paying a bribe to secure the release of his livestock, which had been wrongfully impounded by the officers.

The trio committed the offence on 7th March 2019 at Joska Shopping Center within Machakos County, being persons employed by the Ministry of Interior and Coordination of National Government.
