Former Nairobi Governor leads protest against Body by Besign Kenya amid claims of botched surgeries

Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko, joined by outraged residents, stormed the offices of Body by Design Kenya in Nairobi, demanding answers following allegations of botched cosmetic surgeries resulting in death.

The incident follows a rising wave of complaints on social media accusing the cosmetic clinic of malpractice.

Addressing the press outside the facility, Sonko called upon the Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists, and Dentists Board (KMPDB) to step in and investigate.

He claimed his office had received numerous appeals from grieving mothers who alleged that cosmetic surgeries performed by the clinic had led to fatalities.

“It is all over social media—people accusing this entity of botched cosmetic surgeries. Where is KMPDB? Let them investigate these claims and provide clarity to the public,” Sonko urged.

This week, news circulated of a woman’s death allegedly following a surgery at the clinic, prompting concerned citizens to approach Sonko for intervention.

Neither Body by Design Kenya nor KMPDB has issued a public statement regarding the allegations or the recent reported death.

The former Governor’s involvement has amplified public outcry, pressuring health authorities to investigate and clarify the safety of cosmetic surgery practices in Kenya.
