Former Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter abducted by unknown people

Former Nandi Hills member of parliament (MP) Alfred Keter, a vocal supporter of anti-government protests has been abducted by unknown people and taken to an undisclosed location.

In a Facebook post on Sunday June 30, 2024, Keter disclosed that he had been abducted by unknown people.

“Abducted, headed to an unknown destination!” Keter posted on his Facebook page. 

A video circulating on social media shows the former Nandi Hills MP being pulled out of his vehicle by three men before he was forcefully bundled in a double cab parked along the road.

He was allegedly abducted while on his way to Church in Lavington, Nairobi.

Similar sentiments were shared by Embakasi East MP Babu Owino who stated that the former Nandi Hills MP was abducted on his way to church.

“Hon Alfred Keter has been arrested while in church. Intimidation won’t scare us. We are too focused,” Babu Owino posted on X.

In addition, Cyprian Nyakundi, a blogger shared a video of Keter abduction on his X account. 

“Former Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter, a firebrand critic of President William Ruto and vocal supporter of ongoing anti-government protests in Kenya, claims he has been abducted by unknown people and taken to an undisclosed location,” Nyakundi posted.

Keter’s abduction comes a few days after he had promised to traverse the entire country with Embakasi East MP Hon. Babu Owino.

“I will traverse the entire country with my friend and Embakasi East MP Hon. Babu Owino to squabble and toss out all the lies and ambiguous promises made by this failed Kenya Kwanza government,”  Alfred Keter noted in one of his recent posts on social media.
