Former REREC Finance Manager Noah Oluoch arrested over forgery of academic certificates

Detectives from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) have arrested Rural Electrification and Renewable Corporation former Finance and ICT Manager Noah Oketch for allegedly forging academic certificates to secure his job at the agency.

Noah is currently held at EACC police station for processing and is scheduled to be arraigned at the Milimani Law Courts, where he will charged with forgery among other charges.

EACC had disclosed earlier that the Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Corporation is among the agencies in Kenya with cases of forged academic and professional certificates.

In a letter released on March 11, 2024, the commission cautioned against the disbursement of payments to civil servants who have chosen to resign or retire prematurely, citing ongoing investigations into alleged falsification of academic and professional credentials.
