Kisii: Woman, daughter murdered in land dispute

Four suspects were arrested on Saturday March 16, 2024 following the brutal murder of an 80-year-old woman and her daughter in Suneka, Kisii County, due to a land dispute.

According to the police report, the two were killed on Saturday, March 16, morning due to land issues among family members.

The bodies of Jane Kerubo Mogambi, 80, and her daughter Damaceline Nyatuka Mogambi, 35, were found in a house after a brutal murder in the Bokeire Sub Location within Lyabe Location.

Nyatuka’s body was found lying in a pool of blood with deep cuts on her head and a fracture on her right hand, while Kerubo died on arrival at the hospital with deep cuts on her body.

Nyatuka had returned home after a failed marriage, and her mother planned to give her a piece of land, causing tension among some family members.

The suspects, who are the deceased’s relatives, are in custody as the police investigate to establish if more suspects were involved.

Elsewhere, police are investigating the murder of a 40-year-old man whose body was found in a trench in Ntulele, Narok County.

Additionally, in Loibor Lokony village in Ntulele location, John Kilwa Koroi, 70, was found dead in a makeshift house.

His body had no visible injuries, but there was blood oozing from his nose and mouth.
