Four traffic police officers in Embu County are in trouble after they were arrested over allegations of soliciting bribes from motorists.

The traffic cops were arrested by Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) officers on Thursday, May 9, following numerous complaints from members of the public.

The traffic police officers were nabbed at the junction of Embu-Siakago Road.

The anti-graft agency has identified the said traffic police officers as; Inspector Sammy Cherogony, Corporal Maurice Mwakachora, Constable Fozia Hallake and Constable Adan Mohamed Iman.

All the arrested suspects are based at Kiritiri Police Station.

“[They] were processed at EACC Integrity Centre Police Station and are currently held at Kilimani Police Station pending further action,” EACC says.
