A fourth-year student at Kenyatta University was found dead in a house after a suspected suicide incident in Marrel area, Bungoma County.
According to the police report, the body of the deceased identified as Ian Ngahu, 24, was hanging in his parents’ maize store.
The body was found hanging on a sisal rope that had been tied around his neck on Sunday December 8, 2024.
Police have launched investigations into the incident, to discover the motive behind the suicide incident.
No suicide note was recovered at the scene.
Meanwhile, the body was moved to Bungoma County Referral Hospital mortuary for postmortem.
A similar incident occurred in Kitengela, Kajiado County, where a 13-year-old boy died by suicide in his father’s house.
Police visited the scene, where they discovered that the boy used a bed sheet to hang himself.
