A woman, Rose Achieng’ claiming to be Fred Omondi’s wife and the mother of his two-year-old daughter, Kyla Adhiambo Omondi, has emerged ahead of his burial ceremony.
Achieng’ shared intimate details about their relationship and her reception by Fred’s family.
Speaking in an interview with a local media house on June 28, Achieng’ , who chose not to disclose her name, revealed how Fred had confided in her about his family background.
Despite never living together, she accepted the role of his wife out of a deep-seated desire for familial connection.
“Nimekuwa bibi ya Fred. Niko na mtoto. Ako two years na anaitwa Kyla Adhiambo Omondi,” she affirmed.
She expressed gratitude for the warm reception from Fred’s family, contrary to her initial fears of rejection.
Warm reception in Sega Village
“Nawashukuru sana. Nataka kushukuru kwanza mama Fred coz alinikaribisha vizuri… Vile nilifika kwa boma nilikuwa nadhani maybe wataniuliza mi ni nani but nashukuru.
The sisters and brothers wamenikaribisha vizuri sana. Nashukuru,” she shared.
The woman recounted how she met Fred at a function, leading to their relationship and the birth of their daughter.
“Tulienda kwa function. Hapo ndio tulipatana tukaanza kuongea na akachukua number. Tukameet ikaendelea hivo tu mpaka tukafanikiwa kupata mtoto,” she explained.
She described Fred as a joyful person and shared her disbelief upon hearing the news of his death.
“Fred ni mtu tu ako na furaha sijawahi ona ubaya wake. Alikuwa tu free na mimi tulikuwa tu sawa…
Kuna beshte yake alinipigia simu asubuhi akaniambia Fred ako Mama Lucy, but sikuamini. I was like si niliongea naye akasema atakuja kuona mtoto coz hiyo time nilikuwa kwa mamangu Kibera.”
Erick Omondi said that if anyone else claims to have a kid with his late brother, they should come forward before he is laid to rest.
Omondi added that he is ready to take care of the kids but only if they look like Fred Omondi.
Ahead of Fred Omondi’s burial service scheduled for Saturday, June 29, 2024, at his home in Sega, his alleged wife’s revelation added complexity to his personal life.
Further bringing about discussions now including the possibility of other co-wives coming forward.
She expressed openness to other potential co-wives if they exist, not certain if they did but regardless she said she would welcome them with open arms.
The memorial service, held in preparation for the burial, provided an opportunity for family, friends, and fans to pay their final respects to the beloved comedian, whose life and relationships continue to be remembered and understood in new ways.
