Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has condemned the alleged scheme to remove Chief Justice Martha Koome from office, saying that the State is after Koome for her stand against impunity.
Speaking on Sunday January 26, 2025 during a church service at PCEA Imenti North Presbytery in Meru County, the former DP asked the government to stop any attempt to remove the Chief Justice from office, noting that it is a scheme to silence dissenting voices.
According to Gachagua, there has been a scheme to systematically first remove him from office then remove the Chief Justice and later dismantle the Judiciary in the preparations to rigg the 2027 general elections.
“We’ve seen a scheme to remove CJ Justice Martha Koome from office, and there are attempts to frustrate her, so that she can resign.
“I want to tell my sister Martha Koome that don’t be intimidated, stay put, you have done a good job and continue serving the Judiciary and the people of Kenya, to ensure the rule of law and constitutionalism,” said Gachagua.
He also asked the International Community to closely monitor Kenya and record all the happenings because the State has already captured the legislature and executive and it is on its way to capture the judiciary.
On the unity of Mount Kenya region, Gachagua asked residents of the mountain to remain united alleging that president Ruto’s attempt to divide the region has been defeated.
Gachagua was accompanied by his spouse Dorcas and other national leaders.
