Embattled Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Monday, October 7 evening revealed that he sometimes is a lonely man.
Speaking while addressing the nation on corruption allegations he is facing in the impeachment motion against him, DP Gachagua said that being lonely drove him to buy land in Meru County, so as to be near his family members from his mother’s side.
“Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is sometimes a lonely man. His father is dead, his mother is dead. His brother Nderitu Gachagua the governor died of pancreatic cancer, his brother Dr Fred Wachira Gachagua died because of alcohol, his other brother Jackson Reriani died because of alcohol, his sisters are married,” Gachagua said during the press conference at his official resident in Karen, Nairobi.
By virtue of losing most of his immediate family members and his sisters getting married, Gachagua says that he decided to look for some land in Meru where he can build a house and mingle with his mother’s relatives.
“In the process, I identified a 29-acre land and borrowed money from Sacco, which I’m paying every month.”
