Gachagua: “Our camp is targeting 15 million votes in 2027”

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has said that his camp is targeting for 15 million votes in the 2027 elections, ensuring a landslide win to prevent challenges in the Supreme Court.

“A broad coalition is forming, securing key voting blocs in Mt. Kenya, Ukambani, and Western regions,” Gachagua stated.

He believes political discussions with regional leaders are building a movement strong enough to remove the current government.

“We want 15 million votes with a six-million-vote margin to avoid court challenges,” he added.

Gachagua has confirmed his support in Mt. Kenya and is working with leaders like Kalonzo Musyoka and Eugene Wamalwa to expand their base.

In the 2022 elections, Ruto won with 7,176,141 votes (50.49%) over Raila Odinga’s 6,942,930 votes (48.85%).

Ruto’s victory was largely thanks to Mt. Kenya’s support, which accounted for 47% of the national vote.

Gachagua is confident of repeating this success in 2027 and removing nearly five million votes from the current regime.

“Where Gachagua and Mt. Kenya stand, that’s where the winning team will be,” he said.

He also urged the Luhya community to join his camp, saying their unity is key to victory.

“It’s my prayer the Mulembe Nation joins us, as their support makes victory easier,” he concluded.
