Gen Zs donate blood to support those injured during anti-Finance Bill protests

Youth in Mlolongo, Machakos County have donated over 100 pints of blood to support treatment of young people, commonly referred to as Gen Zs who sustained gunshot injuries during anti-Finance Bill protests across  the country.

Led by Moses Obash, the leader of Syokimau Mlolongo Sabaki (SMS)  Youth Network based in Mlolongo, more than one hundred youth on Saturday June 29, 2024 donated blood freely in support of their colleagues and friends who were injured during protests.

The youth however vowed not to relent in their push for justice and reforms in the country, while calling on president William Ruto to start the process of constituting a new Independent  Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

In addition, they made a call to IPOA and other independent bodies to commence investigations over rogue police officers who shot dead several peaceful protesters in different parts of the country.

Meanwhile, the group vowed to continue with protests, as they even narrow down to corrupt county government officials.

According to the youth, they will be visiting county governors for accountability after what they call the sanitation process in the national government.

The blood pints will be distributed to several hospitals across the country where victims are receiving treatment.

At the same time, they urged President William Ruto to sack all senior government officials including cabinet secretaries involved in corruption cases.
