Gideon Moi, leader of the KANU party, and his wife, Zahra Moi, are beaming with pride following the grand traditional wedding of their son, Kimoi Moi.
On Saturday, September 14, 2024, Kimoi exchanged vows with his fiancée, Ivy Chebet, in a stunning ceremony surrounded by close family and friends.
The former Baringo Senator expressed his joy and pride in a heartfelt statement, applauding his son for taking the bold step of formalizing his union.
“As a father, I am proud of my son Kimoi for taking a bold step to formalize his union with the love of his life, Ivy Chebet.
May God’s blessings cover their union as husband and wife,” Gideon shared on X (formerly Twitter).
The joyous event comes just months after Kimoi’s elder brother, Kigen Moi, celebrated his own wedding.
In May of this year, Kigen married Rebecca Chepchumba in a lavish ceremony held in Rome, Italy, preceded by a traditional wedding in Kericho County.
Kimoi’s wedding followed the rich Kalenjin tradition known as koito, a cultural ceremony that involves dowry negotiations between the bride and groom’s families.
This symbolic union brought both families together, blessing the couple as they embark on their new chapter of life.
Gideon Moi wished his son and daughter-in-law nothing but love, grace, and happiness, praying that their marriage would be filled with understanding and joy.
“We wish them nothing but grace, understanding, and happiness as they embark on this journey,” he added.
The glamorous event drew notable guests, including senior government officials like President William Ruto’s special adviser, Charles Keter.
The celebration marked yet another significant milestone for the Moi family, which has seen two sons marry this year.
