Roots Party leader Prof. George Wajackoyah has maintained that bhang is a holy plant, according to biblical scriptures.

Speaking during an interview with Dr. Ofweneke on TV47 on Wednesday September 11, 2024, Wajackoyah explained that God was not a fool to declare bhang a holy plant.

“ Cannabis, the holy plant, has been mentioned in several books of the Bible, Hebrew, Genesis1;29,” he said.

At the same time, the Roots party leader advised Kenyans to avoid the Hallelujah mentality.

“Who said marijuana is bad?” Wajackoyah asked.

He maintained that in his marijuana legalization plan in Kenya, he was to focus on the hemp which has two divisions, the equatorial used for domestic consumption as an ingredient in the making of lotions aiding in the beauty enhancement of women.

The second division focuses on the industrial use of the hemp seeds and the leaf which he said, “it is not very toxic when used properly.”

He also educated Kenyans on the job opportunities that hemp can create for the youth.

Wajackoyah also articulated his discontent with the current state of Kenyan politics and governance.

According to Wajackoyah, he won the 2022 presidential elections, even as he hinted at vying for the presidency in the 2027 elections.

The Roots party leader also proposed a renewal of Kenya’s economy through enhanced agriculture and industrialization.

He emphasized the potential of high-value crops and processing industries to boost job creation and economic growth for the youth.

A particularly controversial topic was his call for the legalization of bhang, which he argues could generate revenue and job opportunities for the youth.

Wajackoyah also addressed the need for comprehensive reforms in the education sector.

For instance, he stressed the importance of equipping young Kenyans with skills that align with modern industry demands.
