Gor Mahia players informed of payment suspension for missed training days

Gor Mahia has notified their players that they will not receive payment for the days they missed training. The notice sent to the players has also been shared with the Football Kenya Federation and the Kenya Footballers Welfare Association.

The letter reads:

“According to your contract with the club, you must follow club rules and regulations, including instructions from the team manager regarding administrative matters.

“You are also expected to maintain high levels of discipline both on and off the pitch, including during training.

“Your failure to adhere to these standards constitutes a breach of your contract. You are required to provide a written explanation within 48 hours of this notice as to why disciplinary action should not be taken against you for violating Clause 6 of your contract and Article 14 of FIFA’s Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players.

“Consequently, the club will withhold a portion of your salary, allowance, and any other benefits for the period of your absence.

“If you do not submit a response by the specified deadline, the club will decide without further reference to you.”

Additionally, the club has cancelled their trip to Nigeria for the Coal City International Tournament after their players went on strike this week, demanding a share of the Ksh5 million won after securing the FKF Premier League.

The players have been sent show-cause letters for not showing up for work and are required to reply within 48 hours. Gor Mahia insists that players are paid per win and receive payments for all 21 matches won.
