The Government has released Ksh 1.2 Billion to the Ministry of Education as a capitation for TVET institutions days after releasing Ksh 31 Billion which went to the State Department of Basic Education.
“The Government has released Ksh1.192 billion to TVET institutions nationwide, marking a pivotal moment in its commitment to skills development,” a statement from the Ministry of Education read in part.
“This injection of resources aims to foster an environment conducive to effective learning and skill acquisition,”

Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu indicated that the fund will also be geared towards the purchase of training materials, utilities and the facilitation of co-curricular activities.
“This funding ensures that current TVET trainees have ample opportunities for success within and beyond the institution, emphasising the inclusive principle of training for everyone and leaving no one behind,”
As part of President William Ruto’s administration’s focus on enhancing accessibility and elevating the quality and relevance of TVET, part of the cash will be used to provide financial assistance to individual trainees.
