The Ministry of Sports, in collaboration with the Kenya Academy of Sports, the Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA), and the Ministry of Education, has launched a Nationwide Sports Talent Camp aimed at nurturing the next generation of sports stars.
The program, running from December 1 to December 15, 2024, will bring together 3,000 talented young athletes identified during school games competitions.
This flagship program, running from Monday, December 1, to Sunday, December 15, 2024, in Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu and Eldoret, under the State Departments of Sports, is part of the Ministry’s commitment to nurturing young talents and aligns with its broader vision of monetizing sports.
The participants, identified during school games competitions, will receive advanced training and mentorship across various sports disciplines at venues including Shimo La Tewa High School, Khamisi High School, and Mombasa Baptist High School in Mombasa Hospital Hill High School and Parklands Arya Girls School and Lavington Secondary School in Nairobi; Kisumu Boys High School and Kisumu Girls High School in Kisumu; and Moi Girls High School and Hill School Girls in Eldoret.
The initiative aims to provide specialized coaching to refine the skills of these budding athletes while fostering teamwork, sportsmanship and pathways to national and international platforms.
With guidance from seasoned coaches and technical experts, the program seeks to transform raw talent into professional excellence, highlighting the Ministry’s dedication to shaping a globally competitive sports industry and creating opportunities for young talents to thrive.
