A team of government pathologists, led by Chief Government Pathologist Dr. Johanssen Oduor, conducted an autopsy at the Kericho County Referral Hospital mortuary on the body of Richard Otieno, an Elburgon resident from Molo Constituency, Nakuru County. Richard’s body was discovered under unclear circumstances after he was allegedly attacked by unknown assailants.
Autopsy Findings
The post-mortem, carried out in the presence of Richard’s family lawyer, DCI officers, and representatives from the Independent Medico-Legal Unit (IMLU), revealed that Richard succumbed to excessive bleeding caused by a severe injury to the back of his head. The wound was inflicted by a sharp object, consistent with an attack.
Speaking at the mortuary, Dr. Johanssen Oduor confirmed:
“The injuries on the deceased are consistent with an attack using a sharp object. Excessive bleeding from the wound significantly contributed to his untimely death.”
Family and Legal Response
Richard’s family lawyer, Roselinda, expressed acceptance of the autopsy findings and urged law enforcement agencies to expedite investigations to bring the culprits to justice.
“We fully accept the pathologist’s findings, which confirm the cause of death. We now call on the authorities to fast-track their investigations and apprehend those responsible for this heinous act.”
Ongoing Investigations
