More than 2,000 business owners in Londiani Town have vowed not to pay the increased single business permit fees imposed by the Kericho County Government, citing a lack of essential services such as water provision, garbage collection, and public toilets.
For the second consecutive day, Londiani traders shut down their businesses in protest, demanding that the county government justify the fee hike with improved service delivery.
The business owners condemned the increase in trade license fees, arguing that the county government has failed to provide basic services critical to their operations.

Londiani Sub-County Administrator Joyce Koech, who faced difficulty addressing the frustrated traders, announced a 14-day ultimatum for Governor Erick Mutai’s administration to resolve the matter.
