Embattled Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza has broken silence after grilling of her husband and sister in blogger’s murder case.

Taking to social media on Tuesday, Governor Mwangaza stated that the truth will come out soon.

Her husband Murega Baichu was grilled by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Sunday, January 14 in Daniel Muthiani alias Sniper’s murder case.

Mwangaza’s sister Miriam Guantai also recorded a statement with the investigative agency as probe into the mysterious incident progresses.

“Calm in the midst of the storm. Lies can travel halfway around the world while the truth is putting on shoes. We Shall Overcome Gloriously With God’s Grace!” the county boss wrote.

Governor Mwangaza accompanied her husband, sister alongside one other unnamed person to the DCI Headquarters in Meru on Sunday afternoon for questioning.

This brings the number of family members linked to the investigations to three. Mwangaza’s brother Kenneth Murangiri was questioned by DCI officers in Kiambu the previous week.

Detectives are seeking 21 more days detain to Murangiri alongside five other suspects namely; Kenneth Mutua, Fredrick Muriuki, Franklin Kimathi, Timothy Kinoti and Vincent Muriithi.

Governor Mwangaza maintained that the matter would not deter her from fulfilling her purpose of serving the people of Meru County.

She announced a new initiative to distribute seeds to locals as the planting season begins.

“Divine speed is achievable, not by power or might but by my Spirit says the Lord. Challenges will come, storms will deter. Men will stand on our way, but to all those who have made up their minds to fulfill purpose, God will make ways where there are no ways.

“One of the golden attitudes of successful people is that they have forgotten how to give up. Sacrifice always comes before success. Seed time will always precede harvest. So as children of the Most High God, let us brace up, shake up and refuse to surrender to failure,” read part of her statement.

Deceased blogger Sniper went missing on December 2, 2023 before his body was discovered on the banks of River Mutonga in Tharaka Nithi County.
