Governor Sakaja distributes 1,000 title deeds; over 7,000 issued in two Years

Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja has distributed 1,000 title deeds to residents, marking a major milestone in land ownership efforts within the capital.

During the event at Charter Hall in Nairobi, Sakaja reiterated his administration’s commitment to fulfilling its promises, highlighting the issuance of title deeds as a key achievement in addressing land ownership issues in the city.

“Without a title deed, you cannot truly claim ownership of land. Today, you can proudly walk with this deed in hand,” Governor Sakaja remarked.

In the past two years, the county government has issued over 7,000 title deeds to both residents and institutions across Nairobi. Sakaja emphasized that this initiative is part of his administration’s broader mission to improve service delivery.

“As your government, it is our responsibility to serve you. The issuance of these title deeds is an essential aspect of that service,” he added.

The beneficiaries of the title deeds are mainly drawn from 14 schemes in Embakasi North and Embakasi West such as Umoja One, Umoja Innercore, Sharp Corner in Dandora, Kayole Soweto among others.

Governor Sakaja urged recipients to recognize the legal and financial significance of owning a title deed.

“With a title deed, you have the power to secure loans or pass it down to future generations. It’s a document that empowers you,” Sakaja noted.

The governor also issued a stern warning to land grabbers, affirming that his government is committed to recovering illegally acquired land.

He concluded by reaffirming his dedication to continuing service delivery and fulfilling his promises to Nairobi residents.
