The Ministry of Education on Friday, October 13 released key term dates for pre-primary, primary, secondary schools and teacher training colleges in 2024.
In a press statement, the ministry stated that schools will open for term one on January 8, 2024, and run for a period of 13 weeks before closing on April 5, 2024.
The ministry has scheduled that learners will proceed for a half term break from February 29 to March 3.
Students are expected to begin their three-week holiday from April 8 to April 26 at the end of the first term.

After the April holiday, schools will open for the second term on April 29, 2024.
The Ministry has indicated that learners will have a half term break from June 20 to June 23.
Second term will run for 14 weeks from April 29 to August 2.
The students will then break for the August holiday before resuming for third term on August 26.
Third term will run until October 25.

In the third term, the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) examinations for grade six pupils will be held from October 28 to October 31.
At the same time, form four students will sit for Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) from November 4 to November 22.
Consequently, term three ends on October 28, as students proceed on long holiday up to January 3, 2025.
On the other hand, the first term for Teachers’ training colleges starts on January 8, 2024, and ends on April 5.

The Students will then rest for four weeks before second term commences on April 29 up to August 2.
After the second term, the college students will rest up to August 30.
Term three for the TTCs will start on August 26, to November 8, 2024.
