The government has issued a stern warning to leaders from Narok and Migori counties who are inciting the members of Kipsigis and Kuria communities to attack each.
Narok County Commissioner Kipkech Lotiatia called politicians who are visiting the Angata Barrikoi area in the name of inspecting development to keep off the area or risk arrest.
The county commissioner, who was in the company of Narok Governor Patrick ole Ntutu, said the frequent tribal clashes among the two neighbouring communities are politically instigated.
He was speaking after meeting the Kipsigis community in Angata Barrikoi area.
On his part, Ntutu said that Narok has formed a committee of 30 members and they will be their counterpart from Migori who will be spearheaded by their governor Ochillo Ayacko.
“I will be chairing the committee with the county commissioner to ensure that a lasting solution is found,” said Ntutu.
He added that it is sad that the violence has led to loss of lives, others maimed and destruction which is totally unacceptable.
