GSU officer arrested for defiling 17-year-old school girl

A General Service Unit (GSU) officer has been arrested by his fellow officers for allegedly defiling a 17-year-old school girl in Bungoma County.

Justus Njeru, Kopsiro Sub County commander praised members of the public for sharing the information, that led to the arrest of the GSU officer on March 6, 2024.

In addition, Njeru warned men against involving in love relationships with underage school girls.

Njeru confirmed that the GSU officer was caught red handed while defiling the school girl.

The suspect is being detained at Kipsigon police station, pending investigations and arraignment in court.

Bungoma County Deputy Governor Jenipher Mbatiany also condemned the incident, calling for further investigations into the matter.

“We want justice for this minor, this is so disheartening, as we fight these vices in our communities they are those who are still doing them,” she said

Mbatiany lauded the Mt Elgon security team for responding very fast to handle the alleged defilement case.

She called on the family of the victim and members of the public to remain calm as security officers continue with investigations to unravel the truth in the matter.
