“Hamtaniuzia uoga!” – Gachagua goes bare-knuckle on MPs plotting his impeachment

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Friday, September 20 went bare-knuckle on a section of Kenya Kwanza MPs who are allegedly plotting his impeachment.

Speaking during a roadside rally at Wakulima Market in Nairobi, DP Gachagua told off the said lawmakers, insisting that he was elected by Kenyans, and that only Kenyans can remove him from office.

“Wananitisha mimi, ati watakusanya wabunge wanifukuze mimi. Wananiuzia uoga ati watakusanya wabunge wanitoe kwa kiti changu waweke kibaraka chao. Mimi nilichaguliwa na Wakenya, sikuchaguliwa na wabunge,” Gachagua said, amid cheers from the people present at the rally.

Gachagua reiterated that he will not be cowed by the activities of the said MPs, accusing an unnamed individual of bribing them with money. He also warned that the kind of politics they are playing will destroy Kenya if not careful.

“Mnakusanya wabunge kuwapatia pesa, kuwahonga, ati wauzie Rigathi Gachagua uoga! Mimi Rigathi Gachagua nilichaguliwa na Wakenya, na Wakenya ndiyo wataniondoa kwa kiti wakati ukifika. Hii Kenya ni yetu, lakini hiyo siasa inaletwa Kenya itaharibu Kenya. Wakati huu ni wakati wa kufanya kazi, siyo kupanga siasa kwa mahoteli.”

He further said that the Mt Kenya region supported President William Ruto in the 2022 Presidential Election without being coerced.

“Those plotting must respect us. Do not try us. Also, those insulting me should know that they are not insulting Gachagua but the people who voted for him,” he added.

“Sisi tuliunga Rais William Ruto mkono kwa hiari yetu, na tulimpenda. Wanaopanga haya maneno tafadhali msitujaribu. Msituambie sisi ni bure, wale wanaonitukana, hamnitukani bali mnatukana wananchi walionipigia kura.”
