Harambee Starlets set for WAFCON Qualifier against Tunisia at Ulinzi Sports Complex

The Harambee Starlets will host Tunisia in their 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifier at Ulinzi Sports Complex on Friday, February 21, 2025.

The second leg will take place four days later in Tunis, Tunisia, on Tuesday, February 25, 2025.

Coach Odemba’s Game Plan: Attack and Youth Integration

Head coach Beldine Odemba has emphasized an attacking approach for the crucial home fixture.

“Tunisia is a strong side, but we are ready for the challenge ahead. In our home match, we need to score and press forward aggressively to secure a positive result.”

She also highlighted the importance of integrating young talent into the squad, ensuring long-term success for Kenyan women’s football.

“The youth are the future of football. Bringing them into the senior team helps build a conveyor belt of talent. A great example is former Junior Starlets captain Elizabeth Ochaka, who played at the 2024 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup, leading Kenya to its first-ever FIFA World Cup appearance.”

Squad Preparation and Key Players

  • 26 players have already reported to camp.
  • 10 international players will join once the FIFA international window opens.

Starlets Aim to Maximize Home Advantage

With home support at Ulinzi Sports Complex, the Harambee Starlets will look to take a commanding lead before traveling to Tunisia for the return leg. A win would put them one step closer to securing a spot at WAFCON 2026.
