Harambee Stars 24-man provisional squad named

Harambee stars coach Egin Firat has unveiled a provision squad of 24 players that will begin preparation for the Upcoming friendly matches against South Sudan and Qatar.

The team will play an away match with Qatar on September 7, 2023, and will subsequently face South Sudan at their home ground on September 12, 2023.

The group of 24 players selected exhibits a strong blend of local talents and those playing internationally.

Note worthy among the players stationed abroad are the likes of the team captain Michael Olunga, who plies his trade in Qatar, Masud Juma currently competing in Saudi Arabia.

Ian Otieno stationed in Zambia, Joseph Okumu showcasing his skills in France, Brian Mandela representing South Africa, Johnstone Omurwa making his mark in Portugal.

 Eric Ouma performed in Sweden, Amos Nondi showcased his talents in Armenia, Richard Odada competed in Denmark, and Teddy Akumu contributed his skills from Japan.

Ayub Timbe Masika, now actively engaged in the Chinese league, and Timothy Omondi, presently situated in Sweden, are making their return to the squad after a hiatus.

Furthermore, the roster encompasses foreign players with Kenyan heritage who are active in European leagues.

Notably, Danish-born defender Daniel Anyembe, previously a captain for Denmark’s U-23 national team, along with Alfred Scriven, who represents IL Hodd in Norway, has been called up once again.

Elvis Rupia from Kenya Police and David Ochieng, as well as Abud Omar from Kenya Police and Moses Shummah from Kakamega Homeboyz, have successfully secured their spots on the roster.

The team is scheduled to convene at the training camp on Sunday, September 3, 2023.
