The Kenya national men’s football Harambee Stars head coach Engin Firat is prepared to face any opponent in world football, including heavyweights Brazil and Argentina, according to his assistant Ken Odhiambo.
In an interview with a local radio station, Odhiambo revealed that Firat is a confident man and commended him for successfully instilling that confidence in the Harambee Stars players.
“One thing about the coach is his confidence; he is not even afraid of Brazil or Argentina. Bring them on, and he will take them on,” said the former Kenya international.

According to the former Bandari and Sofapaka head coach, Kenya’s 2-1 victory over 2022 World Cup hosts Qatar and a 2-2 draw against 2018 World Cup hosts Russia in friendly matches can only be attributed to Firat’s ability to instill confidence.

Last month, Firat won the award of the most successful Turkish Coach overseas at the Istanbul ATA Club Award Ceremony.
IHA News reports that Firat earned this accolade for his outstanding work in transforming Kenya into a competitive football team, defying expectations for a nation traditionally known for its prowess in athletics.
“Against all odds and without any players in a top team, Engin Fırat successfully transformed Kenya into a team with a promising future,” stated the award announcement.
