Heavy rains to continue in Central, Western and Rift Valley this week- Met dept

The Kenya Meteorological Department has warned of heavy rainfall starting today (Tuesday) all through to Monday next week.

The May 7 to May 13 forecast shows heavy rainfall will continue to be witnessed across most parts of the country.

In Central, Western and Rift Valley regions, the levels will be much higher than other parts of the country. However, in other counties such as Turkana, Wajir, Isiolo, Kitui, Taita Taveta and Tana River, rainfall levels will be on the minimum.

Despite the cyclone Hidaya failing to hit the Kenyan coastal line, heavy rainfall is still being witnessed along with strong winds.

Kenya Met while responding to a resident of Watamu in Kilifi County, noted that high levels of rainfall would be experienced, cautioning residents along River Sabaki to move to higher grounds.
