Helena Seger, a well-established 52-year-old businesswoman and former model, gained widespread recognition for her relationship with the recently retired striker, Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

How did Ibrahimovic and Helena meet?

Ibrahimovic and Helena have been a couple since 2002, their love story taking root in a parking lot incident where the 41-year-old striker had poorly parked his Ferrari, obstructing her Mercedes.

Helena recounted, “He had parked his Ferrari badly, preventing my Mercedes from moving. I bluntly asked him to relocate it, and yes, he saw something that he liked.”

Helena turns down Ibrahimovic’s marriage proposal

Together, they have two sons – Maximilian, 16, and Vincent, 14. However, Ibrahimovic recently disclosed that his fiancée of more than 20 years and the mother of his children declined his marriage proposal.

“She said no. This occurred a couple of years ago when I expressed my belief that after two decades, she deserved to be my wife. She responded, ‘I don’t need marriage to be with you,'” Ibrahimovic recounted on Piers Morgan Uncensored.

So, why did Helena Seger reject Ibrahimovic’s marriage proposal?

In a previous interview, Helena made it clear that she had no desire to wed, particularly not a footballer like Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

She contended that marriage would compromise her sense of self and the cherished independence she holds dear.

“Getting married could erode my sense of independence. I have no interest in being labeled merely as a player’s wife. People should recognize the extent of my education, work, and personal struggles,” she said.

Living with the former Barcelona player is no small feat, and she acknowledged that it is as challenging as living with herself, as she explained: “Living with him isn’t easy, but I confess that living with myself isn’t a walk in the park either.”
