National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichungwa now finds himself embroiled in political battles with a section of Kiambu County leadership.
According to the section of Members of County Assembly (MCAs), Ichung’wah — who is the Kikuyu MP — is arrogant and proud, and has been constantly sowing discord within the county’s leadership.
The MCAs allege that Ichung’wah and other MPs within the county have become accustomed to calling them and issuing threats and insults at them.
In a recent incident, Ichung’wah was involved in a public altercation with pro-Governor Kimani Wamatangi MCAs. He slammed the MCAs for what he said was “neglecting their duties by blindly aligning themselves with Governor Wamatangi.”
The MP claimed that the MCAs have disregarded their oversight roles and are now following the Governor in all his meetings across the county.
The MCAs hit out at Ichung’wah saying he had resorted to personal attacks after realising that he is fast becoming isolated due to his brand of politics.
Some of those MCAs critical of MP Ichung’wah include; Patrick Ngaruiya (Ngecha-Tigoni), Kennedy Odhiambo (Kahawa Sukari), and Grace Hinga (Kabete).
