Police in Rangwe Sub-County have taken into custody a local bishop from Ndiru village for allegedly engaging in sexual relations with his biological daughter.
The arrest was made by officers from the Ndiru police station after community members raised concerns.
According to the eyewitnesses, the bishop was caught in the act by a villager, with the daughter being a mother of three.
Rangwe Sub County police commander Magdalene Chebet reported that they received a tip-off from worried community members about the bishop’s alleged sexual relationship with his daughter, who got married and separated from her husband.
Following the public outcry, Chebet noted that officers from the Ndiru police station, led by the OCS, swiftly responded and arrested the bishop at his home.
He is currently being held at Ndiru police station while investigations continue.
After undergoing a medical evaluation, the bishop’s daughter was interviewed and subsequently released.
