Police in Suba South Sub County are investigating the brutal murder of a 35-year-old man who was attacked and stabbed to death inside his home early this morning.
According to authorities, Benson Ondiala was asleep in his bedroom in Miramba village, Gwasi West Location.
When a group of unknown assailants armed with knives and other crude weapons stormed his house at around 3 a.m.
The gang repeatedly stabbed him in the head before fleeing, leaving him dead on his bed.
Suba South Sub County Police Commander Caxton Ndunda confirmed the incident, stating that the attack happened in the presence of Ondiala’s wife.
The motive behind the killing remains unclear, and detectives are now investigating how the attackers gained access to the house.
“We have summoned the deceased’s wife to record a statement with the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to assist in the probe,” Ndunda told Radio Ramogi.
The shocking murder has sparked outrage among local leaders, who are demanding swift action from security agencies.
Leaders from Suba South constituency have condemned the attack and urged police to bring the culprits to justice.
Lilian Ngala, Director of the Lilian Ngala Foundation, has called on the DCI to expedite investigations to ensure justice for Ondiala’s family.
“This is a heartbreaking incident. We urge the Suba South DCI office to take this matter seriously and ensure the perpetrators are arrested as soon as possible,” she said.
Police have assured residents that investigations are ongoing and pledged to enhance security measures in the area to prevent similar incidents.
