Homa Bay County will host this year’s Devolution Conference from 12th – 15th August, 2025.
The significant event in the devolution calendar will convene key stakeholders in Kenya’s devolution process to highlight the country’s exceptional accomplishments and advancements in governance, service delivery, and community development.
Making the announcement, Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga said the decision to designate the lakeside county as the venue for the conference underscores the county’s pivotal role and remarkable contributions to Kenya’s devolution journey.
Over 10,000 delegates are expected to converge in the county, with the event promising to be a groundbreaking experience for people of Homa Bay.
In addition to providing a substantial economic boost through increased spending on accommodations, dining, transportation, and more, the conference will definitely catalyse infrastructure development that promises lasting benefits for the locals.
“It is also a prime opportunity to spotlight Homa Bay’s natural wonders, cultural treasures, and tourism gems on a national platform, attracting visitors and investments to our hospitality industry,” Wanga says.
She thanked the Council of Governors (CoG) for picking Homa Bay to host the biennial conference that was last held in Uasin Gishu County in 2023.
