Home School wins 2024 Lisle Shaw Memorial Interschool Golf Tournament

The Home School Team consisting of Junaid Manji, Kanana Muthomi, Mitansh Thacker and Ishan Samani played a combined score of 236 gross to emerge the winners of the 2024 NCBA Lisle Shaw Memorial Interschool Golf Tournament held at Windsor Golf Hotel & Country Club.

Mitansh Thacker played the best score of 76 gross for the team, Junaid and Kanana played 80 gross each while Ishan Samani played 81 Gross. The best three scores count for the team score. The defending champions, Premier Academy, finished runner up having achieved a score of 239 gross consisting of 75 Gross from Tsevi Soni, 82 Gross from both Kagame Handa and Tsorav Soni and 85 Gross from Ryan Njuguna. Peponi School finished third with 243 Gross.

In the subsidiary Category, Youan Li’s 54 Nett propelled Braeburn Gitanga school to the win with a total nett of 125 nett consisting of Luke Oduor’s 87 nett and Zixiao Liu’s 71 Nett. The best two nett scores count for the team score. St. Ruth school finished runner-up with 127 nett consisting of Hakeem Mutungi’s 63 nett, Ethan Sobayeni’s 64 nett and Chloe Edemba’s 79 nett. Premier Academy also featured in the subsidiary with their team finishing third with 142 nett.

The individual overall gross winner trophy went to Shashwat Harish who played 73 gross while Youan Li won the individual overall nett winner with an outstanding 54 nett.

The Lisle Shaw is the third interschool tournament in the Junior Golf Foundation Calendar of events and is open to handicapped junior golfers. 13 schools participated this year with a total of 95 players.
