Honoring a Legacy: Leaders Gather for Malulu Injendi’s Final Journey

President William Ruto led national leaders in paying their last respects to Malava MP Moses Malulu Injendi, who was laid to rest in Lukusi Village, Kakamega County. The funeral was attended by top leaders, including National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula, Senate Speaker Amason Kingi and Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi.

MP Malulu Injendi passed away on February 17 while receiving treatment at Aga Khan University Hospital. His widow, Betty Musonye Malulu, mourned him as a devoted husband and father, recalling his unwavering faith and commitment to his family. She described him as a man of principle who prioritized education and community development.

President Ruto assured mourners that projects initiated by the late MP, including the Malava-Samitsi-Navakholo road, water projects and rural electrification, would be completed. “His efforts will not go to waste. We will honor his legacy by fulfilling his vision for Malava,” he said.

Speaker Moses Wetang’ula eulogized Injendi as a unifying leader, saying, “He was a pacifist who spoke in a way that brought people together despite their differences.”

As the nation bids farewell to the legislator, his family and colleagues remember him for his humility, integrity and dedication to service. His wife, Betty, encouraged their children to uphold their father’s values, emphasizing the importance of hard work and faith.

Mourners, including residents of Malava, expressed their grief, describing Injendi as a leader who was always accessible and worked tirelessly to improve their lives. Many called on the government to ensure his projects continue as a tribute to his service.
