Police in Nairobi are investigating an incident where a woman was stabbed to death by a bodaboda rider in South B area over the weekend.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that Mary Nanjala Indimuli was in the company of two of her colleagues when the unfortunate incident occurred.
In a police report made by one Beatrice Kilonzo, a hairdresser, she was walking home on Sunday, December 3 at around 1:30pm from Sanasana area in the company of the victim (Indimuli) and one Lilian Akinyi.
Two men on a motorcycle
But on their way around Plainsview area, they met two men on the road – one had a motorcycle.
In the report, Kilonzo says that the man on the motorcycle offered the them a lift but they refused. It was at this point that the men followed them behind, with Kilonzo and Akinyi walking hastily, leaving Indimuli behind.
And when the deceased rejected his advances, he brandished a knife, stabbing her twice – in the thigh and chest – before robbing her and driving off.
Rushed to hospital
Makadara Assistant Police Commissioner Dennis Omuku told nation.africa that she was rushed to Mater Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Her body now lies at City Mortuary even as detectives continue with investigations.
