Embu, Kenya, 26th December 2024 – The Wakagoto Foundation, founded by renowned Embu industrialist, businessman, and philanthropist Kenjava Wakagoto, successfully hosted its annual Christmas Treat event, spreading joy and service to thousands of residents in the region.
With the mantra “This Foundation is For You,” the event marked the day of unity, fun, and community service that has identified it in its commitment to adding value to the lives of its Embu residents. Tagged “Touching Lives, Impacting Generations,” the foundation leads purposeful initiatives that make contributions toward the welfare of locals and a spirit of cooperation.
The Christmas treat, which is in its second edition, was held in Kairuri Stadium, Ruguru Ngandori Ward, and had an estimated 10,000 attendees.
The residents enjoyed fun activities such as, bouncing castles for joyful moments of the young generation with pool tables. Delicious meals were put together to bring families and neighbors together in sharing the warmth of the season.
The Wakagoto Foundation has much larger objectives than holding events seasonally. The foundation has taken active participation in empowering Embu citizens through:
Youth Empowerment Programs: plans to equip the youth with skills and opportunities that could promise them better futures; Healthcare Campaigns: Joining hands with the local health providers to arrange for medical camps, offering free consultations and treatments.
Educational Support – Sponsorships for students from disadvantaged backgrounds, as well as provision of learning materials to schools.
Entrepreneurship Development – Training and mentorship programs that aim to help small-scale traders and businesses thrive in Embu.

Addressing attendees during the event, Kenjava Wakagoto said, “This foundation is built on the fact that one person can rise, and the whole community can rise with them.
